Gédony Toussaint, better known as Yeison, is a volunteer who represents how incredible the people of this island are when we share values.
Born in Haiti and raised on the north coast of DR, Yeison is always active on food packaging and distribution days. With Yeison we have gone into forgotten corners of the neighborhoods of La Cienega and Bombita to bring food aid to single mothers, the elderly and people with disabilities. Always with a smile and contagious energy, Yeison also helps us identify those households vulnerable to food insecurity with the Cabarete Sostenible Questionnaire.
In his own words:
"It is not the first time I have done this, since I was 12 years old I have been volunteering distributing food in different places with different missionary foreigners. I like to see people smile when they receive a portion of food and see them happy to see that we arrived by surprise and tell us that we have improved their day.”
